The 50mm deep U-shape carbon rim profile offers measurable aero benefits across a wide range of wind yaw angles, while the 22mm-wide internal rim bed opens out your tyre profile to provide exceptional vibration reduction, improved cornering traction and low rolling-resistance. Proven in wind tunnel, the 50 Carbon Disc offers an 8 watt aerodynamic advantage using MWAD compared to a standard, 25mm-deep alloy wheelset, and gives up only 4 watts compared to the fastest wheels in the segment, such as our SUB50 Limitless Aero Disc and ENVE 4.5 SES, when tested with 28mm tyres. Optimized for 25-35mm tyres (ETRTO compatible with road and gravel tyres ranging from 25mm to 55mm) to keep you at the front of the group, whether on a closed criterium course or a scenic gravel loop.

The HUNT team have paired the wide hooked rim with the H_Ratchet 36T SGL hubs, offering a rapid 10-degree engagement angle, in a reliable, easy-to-service and long-lasting single-sided ratchet drive system. Increased engagement surface area improves power transfer and longevity of the hubs, while using less material compared to a spring-and-pawl system, resulting in a light but robust hub system designed and tested to cope with the increased torque of 1x drivetrains.

Hand-built with top-of-the-range Pillar PSR triple butted J-bend spokes and precision sealed cartridge bearings, this wheelset is ready to help you pick up the pace.

High Specification Components.

Rims

Unidirectional carbon fibre rim construction, with 3k reinforcement at spoke holes for greater durability. The layup is comprised primarily of Toray T700 fibres which offer high impact resistance and flexibility. V:Absorb resin is blended in the carbon layering process, which cures at a lower temperature. Lower temperature resin reduces brittleness, resulting in greater impact resistance and more effective vibration dampening.

Freehub Body

The new HUNT H_Ratchet 36T SGL hubset provides a 10-degree engagement angle with improved durability, offering increased engagement surface area while using less shell materials relative to our race-proven pawl-based systems. Ships with Dumonde Tech Pro X freehub grease applied for long service life and contamination resistance. Compatible with 15mm thru-axles for adaptability for all modern road and gravel bikes.

Bearings

The heart of any wheel. Investing in them makes huge sense. We use high-grade precision smooth-rolling sealed cartridge bearings.

Spokes

Our team has further tuned the ride quality of the 50 Carbon Disc by selecting narrower gauge (TB2015) spokes for the front wheel to provide compliance, with slightly thicker gauge spokes (TB2016) in the rear for increased power transfer.

TYRES

At HUNT we enjoy the puncture resistance and grip benefits of tubeless on our every-day rides, so we wanted to allow you the same option, but of course these tubeless-ready wheels are also designed to work perfectly with inner tubes, just use tubes in tubeless ready tyres.
